RIS & PACS – HMC/PHCC

In 2015, PHCC & Hamad Medical Corporation initiated procurement of a Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) took place. The year 2016 has seen the purchase of a RIS/PACS and the beginning of implementing this system within PHCC Health Centers. With “go-live” dates from January to July 2016 – this major undertaking has already seen immediate positive effects on the clinical workflow. RIS/PACS is now live in all PHCC Health Centers.

Connecting to information enables physicians to decide a plan of action quicker and more effectively, RIS/PACS provides information-sharing solutions that allow physicians to view patient data across multiple applications and locations. The Ultrasound service has also been included within the RIS/PACS system to enable faster turnaround times, adherence to best practice standards, and supervision of practice.
